Policies and Code of Behavior
Applicants
must read and agree to the following policies and code of behavior before their
applications can be considered. Seminar participants will be expected to abide
by the policies.
-
Because the seminar is coordinated by a state college and held on state
facilities, underage drinking and/or drug use will not be tolerated.
Students found to have broken these policies will be expelled AND given an F
for the course.
- Kirtland Community College and the Controlled Burn Seminar staff realize
the need for students to leave the RAM Center for short times; that said,
the College and Seminar staff will not be responsible for you once you leave
the RAM Center. It is urged that you discuss any trips for which you will be
gone for an extended period with your faculty member or the seminar
director.
- Attendance: You are expected to attend all classes and be prepared for
class. You are also expected to attend all readings and question-and-answer
sessions. Failure to attend these without speaking to your faculty member
will impact your grade.
- Sound and Vision: you are welcome to bring music, play music, watch
videos, etc at your leisure. Remember though, you are part of a community
and others may not like your music or just may not want to hear it at 2:00
AM. This means:
- The dorms will be designated quiet areas after 1:00 AM. At this
point music can be played in the registration building or down at the
beach. That means pack batteries for your boom boxes.
- The faculty dorm building is a designated quiet area after 11:00.
- The computer lab is a designated quiet area always.
- Other groups: We share the MacMullan Center. Please treat all groups, as
well as the seminar and RAM Center staff, with respect and dignity.
