What if all I want to do is take one class for
personal interest?
ABSOLUTELY!
YOU CAN TAKE ONE CLASS FOR PERSONAL INTEREST!
Students taking a class for personal interest
must first apply for admissions (if you have not already done so),
fulfill prerequisite requirements (if needed), and then register for
classes as a credit or a non-credit (audit) status.
This is a great opportunity for adults to meet new friends and update
their skills. Some of the popular classes that adults like to take are
computer classes, art classes, music classes, or secretarial classes.
But, you can take virtually any class, as long as you meet prerequisite
requirements.
If you're a senior citizen living in the
Kirtland Community College district, you will receive our
Senior Citizen Scholarship to take up to
two credit hours per semester tuition free. Click
HERE for more information.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO "AUDIT" A CLASS?
A
student who wants to attend a course regularly but does not wish to
receive a grade may register to "audit" or take the class without
receiving college credit. If you wish to audit a class, you should
specify that when you register.
A student who audits a course is required to officially register and
pay all tuition and fees. A change from audit to credit or credit to
audit may be made after classes begin with the approval of the
instructor of the course.
