The Instructional Center (formerly, the Academic Building) is the largest classroom building of the college, offering most of the science labs and health occupations classrooms, the DEV lab, as well as general-purpose and computerized classrooms for a variety of courses. From the first classes of the morning to the last evening classes, the Instructional Center remains a hub of activity at Kirtland.

FACILITIES

The Instructional Center houses the instruction office, the office of the dean of occupational studies, many faculty offices (and the main faculty office), the nursing program offices, classrooms, a large lecture hall, the biology lab, the computer-aided drafting & design (CAD) lab, the chemistry lab, developmental classrooms, the nursing lab, and the physics lab.

Recent construction has added a new two-story wing to the northwest side of the building which houses science labs, the health careers program, and a pedestrian bridge on the west side which connects with the rest of the campus.

Handicapped parking is located at the north end of the Instructional Center, and additional handicapped parking is available in parking lots at the immediate north and northwest of the building. Both the north and south entrances are handicapped accessible. There is an elevator in the new two-story addition, and ADA restrooms are located on the ground floor.
