Kirtland to offer concealed pistol course

(October 7)

Kirtland Community College will again be offering a handgun safety class that fulfills the training requirements of Michigan’s concealed pistol law (CPL).


Spencers bring magical act to KCPA Oct. 18

(October 6)

The Spencers, an entertainment team called “modern day Houdinis” by the media, will bring their dramatic magic act to the Kirtland Center for the Performing Arts on Kirtland Community College’s main campus near Roscommon for one show only at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.


Theatre group begins work on ‘Our Town’

(October 6)

The Kirtland Community College Community Theatre group is already busy preparing for the April 2009 production of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, “Our Town,” and will soon announce when open auditions will be scheduled in late January.


Kirtland hosts annual ‘College Night’ Oct. 16

(September 29)

Kirtland Community College is lending a helping hand to people planning to enter college next fall and who are seeking information on what many of the higher educational institutions in Michigan have to offer by hosting “College Night 2008” from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16.


Controlled Burn series kicks off with Sept. 29 reading

Wisconsin poet Matt Guenette will help kick off the 2008-09 Controlled Burn reading series as the featured speaker on Monday, Sept. 29, at Kirtland Community College.


Firebirds keep improving, run at Bulldog Invite

(September 22)

The results might not necessarily be what some would consider impressive, but coach Steve Seager believes the Kirtland Community College mens and womens cross country teams continue to improve as the 2008 fall season rolls along.


KCC to host free alternative energy presentation

(September 19)

Officials at Kirtland Community College are inviting the public to be part of what they hope will be the first in a series of forums on alternative energy and conservation at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the G.I. Stewart Auditorium, also home of the Kirtland Center for the Performing Arts, on the college’s main campus near Roscommon.


C.O.O.R., Kirtland co-sponsor candidate forum

(September 19)

In an election year where national races are dominating the headlines, officials at Kirtland Community College are hoping to help give area voters a chance to get to know those persons who may soon represent them in Lansing by hosting a “Meet The Candidates Night” on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.


Kirtland opens range Saturdays through Nov. 8

(September 19)

The Kirtland Community College firing range will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays from Sept. 27 through Nov. 8 to give hunters and shooting enthusiasts more time to prepare for the upcoming Michigan’s firearms deer season, which begins Saturday, Nov. 15.


Global Awareness presentation set for Sept. 24

(September 19)

Kirtland Community College will kick off its 2008-09 Global Awareness series with, "Explore China," from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at its main campus near Roscommon.


Firebirds open cross country season at Northwood

(September 8)

The Kirtland Community College mens and womens cross country teams got their 2008 season off and running at the Northwood University Open in Midland on Friday, Sept. 5.


Kirtland to offer community education classes

(September 2)

Area residents will have a chance to study or brush up on a variety of subjects this fall, with Kirtland Community College again set to offer one-night community education classes for just $10 per course.
