ROSCOMMON – It was an evening of

they both fell to defeat at the hands of Schoolcraft College in Livonia on
Monday, Jan. 10.
The Lady Firebirds fell to 1-2 in Michigan Eastern Conference play (4-12
overall), losing 90-56 to Schoolcraft (3-0, 12-3).
“I’d like to say we played well, but we didn’t play hard,” said coach
Teresa Stuck. “We have a lot to learn from this game.”
Amanda Cooper and Kenzie Steward led the Lady Firebirds in scoring with 14
apiece. Steward added 7 rebounds, while Felon Harris added 8 assists and 6
rebounds.
As for the Kirtland men’s team, the 106-85 loss ended a 10-game winning
streak for the Firebirds. Bernard Daniels led in scoring with 18 points,

Carter with 10 each.
Craig Ash led under the boards with 7 rebounds. Sherman Yarbrough added 5.

The Firebirds remain on the road Wednesday and Friday of this week, with
both the men’s and women’s teams taking on Delta College in University
Center Jan. 12 and St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron Jan.
