Kirtland's men's and women's teams lose at Delta
|
ROSCOMMON – Conference play is
taking its toll on the Kirtland men's and women's basketball teams. For
the second straight game, they both fell to defeat on the road, this time
against Delta College on Wednesday, Jan. 12.
The women's team lost 84-63 in what coach Teresa Stuck attributed to a
complete lack of effort on the part of the Firebirds. Amanda Cooper was
lead scorer with 23 points and added 9 rebounds for Kirtland.
The men's team fell to 12-5 overall (2-2 Eastern Conference) with a 78-77
loss. Craig Ash led the Firebirds with 17 points, followed by David
Allison with 14, Bernard Daniels with 13 and Frank Washington with 12. Ash
also led in rebounding with 10. Daniels added 7 assists, while Allison had
3 steals and 6 rebounds.
The Firebirds remain on the road playing Saturday, Jan. 15, in Port Huron
against St. Clair County Community College.
Both the men's and women's teams are back at the CRAF Center in Roscommon
for a Wednesday, Jan. 19, game against visiting Mott Community College,
then will continue to play to the home crowd through the end of the month
with CRAF Center games on Jan. 22, 26 and 29. |
