Contracted Kirtland team defeated by Mott
|
ROSCOMMON – The Firebirds’ Bernard
Daniels fired in an amazing 30 points for the Kirtland Community College
men’s basketball team Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Roscommon but it wasn’t
enough for the win as Kirtland took a 90-75 loss to the Eastern Conference
leader, Mott Community College.
Kirtland’s conference record now stands at 3-2 (13-6 overall), while Mott
remains undefeated at 5-0.
It was a disappointing loss for the Firebirds, who may have stood a better
chance of keeping up with Mott if they’d been at full strength, but with
two lead players sitting the bench, there was barely time for the
Firebirds to breathe.
Frank Washington added 11 points for the Firebirds and Craig Ash netted 9.
The Firebirds’ remain at home for their next three games, beginning
Saturday, Jan. 22, when they host Alpena Community College with a game
time of 3 p.m. Tip off on Wednesday, Jan. 26, is 7:30 p.m. when the
Firebirds host Macomb Community College; and again at 3 p.m. Saturday,
Jan. 29, when they host Wayne County Community College. |
