Physical Access on Campus
Contact the Special
Populations Coordinator or the
Facilities Management Director
if you encounter any physical barriers on campus.
RESTROOMS |
PATHWAYS |
|
Restrooms that comply
with the Americans with Disabilities ACT (ADA) are in newer
construction or renovated areas. These include restrooms in
the Administration Building, the new wing of the Instructional
Building, and the Fine Arts-Physical plant Building.
|
Pathways meet ADA regulations, but because of the hilly
terrain on campus navigating manual wheelchairs can
sometimes be a challenge. Motorized scooters are available
for temporary use.
|
REMOVAL OF SNOW AND ICE |
|
Removal of snow and ice
from accessible parking spots and routes used by students
with disabilities is a priority. |
PAY TELEPHONES |
|
Pay
telephones are at the height required by the ADA and have
volume controls. |
HOUSING |
TTY |
|
Housing accommodation needs should be
discussed with the
Admissions Office.
|
TTY service is available for students who
are deaf or hard of hearing or have speech impairments. TTY
service is located in Student Services in the Administration
Center (ADM).
|
AUTOMATIC DOOR OPENERS |
|
Automatic door openers are installed for
the north and south entrances of the Administration
Building;
the north and south first-floor entrances and the second-floor entrance to the
Instructional Building; the main
entrances to the Library; the west entrance to the Student
Center (back door); and the east entrance to the Career
Technology Center between the Cosmetology Lab and the
Auditorium.
