OWL Submission Guidelines
- All submissions to the OWL must be made using
Kirtland’s myClassroom. If you are unsure of how
to use your Kirtland myClassroom account, contact KCC eservices
at 989.275.5000 x 499 or email
eservices@kirtland.edu.
- If you have questions or concerns about an entire document
and are using Microsoft Word, submit your complete document to
the drop box (see the FAQ for more
information). If you are using Word Perfect or Microsoft Works,
you must save your document as Rich Text Format (.rtf) and then
drop them in the current semester drop box. For instructions on how to save
documents as .rtf files, please click here:
Wordperfect -> RTF
Works -> RTF
- If you have a question about a brief
section of your paper, copy and paste it directly into the
message or the mail within the myClassroom.
- In the text of your drop, specifically state your
questions or concerns, or those aspects of your paper to which
you wish the tutors to respond. Do not simply send your
paper without questions/concerns stated in your email and expect
the OWL tutors to “fix it”; the OWL is not an editing service
and all such submissions will be returned unread. We are here to
help you become a better writer and the more exact you are about
the kind of assistance you need, the better the help will be.
See the FAQ about what is and what is not provided by the OWL.
- OWL submissions without sufficient assignment
information will be returned unread and a request will be made
for more information regarding the assignment; it is impossible
for us to offer you accurate feedback if we do not know what you
are supposed to be writing. If you have an electronic
copy of your assignment, please attach that along with your
work; if not, you must explain the assignment fully in the drop
box message, and include the class and instructor’s name.
